SEO agency · San Diego
A San Diego SEO agency that builds the site and the SEO as one thing
Velour Web is a developer-led SEO agency in San Diego: the person who writes the code writes the pages, so the site and the SEO are one build instead of two invoices. The work is a page per service and city, answer-first copy, structured data generated from the same data as the page, a Google Business Profile that matches, AI crawlers allowed, a review and directory routine, and a monthly report of calls, forms, branded searches and AI citations. Prices are published: sites $3,000 to $25,000, care $99 a month, growth plans $500 to $2,000 a month set by a competition check we show you. We say in writing which categories we will not take, and on green plans we pause billing if there are no measurable leads by month six.
How this differs from the SEO agencies you have already seen
The agencies that rank for 'SEO agency San Diego' are good at what they do, and most of them do it on top of a site someone else built: a WordPress theme with twenty plugins, a page builder, and a homepage that lists everything. Their SEO is content and links poured onto that. Ours starts one step earlier. We build the site so that the structure is the SEO: every service and city gets a real page, every page opens with the answer, the schema is generated from the page's own data so it cannot drift, and the whole thing loads in under a second. Then the ongoing work, new pages, the Business Profile, reviews, citations, sits on a foundation that was built for it.
The other difference is the report. Rankings and traffic are inputs; we report calls, forms, branded searches and, monthly, whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews name you. Over half of desktop searches ended without a click in late 2025, so that is the number that pays the bills.
What the work is
Seven parts, each checkable, each in the monthly report.
- Search and AI research: the words customers type and the questions they ask ChatGPT and Gemini, before any page is written.
- Page map: one page per service and per city or neighborhood, each written for its place. A build-time guard fails any page under 600 words or copied from another.
- Answer-first pages with prices, question headings, FAQ and Offer schema, a named owner and real photos.
- Technical: sub-second pages, server-rendered, LocalBusiness and Service schema with sameAs, sitemaps in Google and Bing, AI crawlers allowed, llms.txt.
- Google Business Profile: categories, services, service area, photos, posts, and reviews requested by text and answered by name.
- Third-party presence: the three or four directories that matter for your trade, the owner's LinkedIn, useful answers where local threads ask.
- Measurement: a tracking number, form counts, Business Profile calls, Search Console, and a 30-prompt AI panel, on one page a month.
What it costs, published
A business website built this way is $3,000 to $8,000; a multi-city local SEO site $8,000 to $25,000. After launch, care is $99 a month. Growth plans add new ranking pages every month and the reporting: Growth 500 (one page a month), Growth 1000 (three pages, exclusivity in your area, a monthly call), Growth 2000 (six pages, citation work, AI-answer monitoring). The tier is set by a ten-minute competition check on the results for your service in your city, which we show you. Every proposal ends with your break-even in calls a month, from your average job, margin and close rate.
Categories we will not take
Where the top ten for your service in your city are national aggregators and businesses with 500 or more reviews, growth spending is better put into referrals or ads, and we say so: personal injury and immigration law, plastic surgery, med spas in La Jolla and Beverly Hills, real estate agents, mortgage and insurance, addiction treatment, movers, locksmiths and solar. We build those sites on care only. An agency that takes every category is selling hours; we are selling a result we can measure.
Proof, on our own domain
Demo Diego, a San Diego demolition company, runs 300+ pages on this structure and takes calls from every corner of the county without ads. CHIC Flowers went from a five-page portfolio to 150 pages and rankings in San Diego and Los Angeles. This site went from a portfolio page to 170 URLs in ten days in September 2026, scores 99 to 100 on Lighthouse, and publishes its own baseline and quarterly results in a case study. We audited 76 San Diego business sites and published the data. Test any page of ours in PageSpeed; view the source for the schema.
San Diego County, in person
Based in North County and in Los Angeles half of every month, meeting clients in person from Oceanside to Chula Vista. Fourteen city pages and fourteen San Diego neighborhood pages of our own say what we build where.

Local SEO Websites
A local SEO website is a site structured to rank for the searches your customers actually type: one page for each service you offer and one for each city you serve, with FAQ and local-business schema, cost guides and a linked Google Business Profile. For San Diego service businesses it costs $8,000 to $25,000 and up depending on how many pages are needed, and takes 4 to 8 weeks.

FAQ
Common questions
What does an SEO agency in San Diego cost?
Most charge $1,000 to $5,000 a month on retainer. We publish ours: care $99 a month, growth plans $500, $1,000 or $2,000 a month set by a competition check, on top of a site built for it at $3,000 to $25,000. Every proposal ends with the break-even in calls a month.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings?
No, and neither does anyone honest; Google and the Federal Trade Commission both act on the claim. We guarantee the pages, the speed, the indexing and the monthly report, and on green plans we pause billing if there are no measurable leads by month six.
Can you do SEO on my existing website?
If it loads in under two seconds and you control the templates, yes. If it is a slow theme with twenty plugins, SEO work on it is wasted until the speed is fixed, and we quote the rebuild that keeps your URLs and rankings.
How is a developer-led SEO agency different?
The person who writes the code writes the pages, so the structure is the SEO: a page per service and city, schema generated from the page data, sub-second load. Agencies that inherit a slow site spend their first months working around it.
Do you do AI search optimization too?
Yes, as part of the same work: answer-first pages, entity markup, crawler access and third-party presence are what get a business cited by ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, and the monthly report includes a 30-prompt AI panel.
Which industries do you work with?
Contractors and trades, dental and medical practices, professional services, restaurants, wedding and event vendors, studios and shops, and startups. Thirty industry pages on this site each carry a break-even box and a competition rating.
