Velour Web

Free website · San Diego

Get a free website. Pay when it brings you leads.

Velour Web builds your San Diego business a custom-coded, search-first website for $0 up front. The only fixed cost is hosting at $50 a month, with a 12-month minimum. The $999 build fee is due only once the site has brought you 5 tracked leads, forms from people who found you through it (and calls, if you add call tracking), and if it never does, you never pay it. It goes live in 2 to 4 weeks, and after 12 months of hosting the code is yours to take anywhere.

How the free website works

Three steps, and the money only moves at the third one. First, a free 20-minute call: what your business does, which services bring the best jobs, which cities you want calls from. We send a written page map and a launch date within one business day, and you approve it before anything is designed.

Second, we design and hand-code the site on our design system, write the pages from a 30-minute interview if you would rather not write them, set up the quote form, tap-to-call, the structured data Google and AI search read, and your Google Business Profile, and launch on your own domain. You pay nothing for any of that.

Third, the site starts working. Every form submission lands in your inbox and in a monthly lead report. Calls count too once a tracking number is set up for your site, which is an optional add-on; until then, forms are the count. The month the report shows the 5th lead, we invoice the $999 build fee, once. Until then the only bill is hosting at $50 a month.

  • Free call, written page map and launch date within one business day
  • Design, build, content, forms, schema and Business Profile setup at $0
  • Hosting $50 a month from launch, 12-month minimum, then month to month
  • $999 build fee invoiced once, the month the site has brought you 5 leads (forms, plus calls if you add call tracking)
  • Never brings five leads? The build fee is never due

What you get for $0

A complete business website in a fixed scope. Five to ten hand-coded pages: home, about, contact, up to five service pages and up to two city pages, each one written to answer the search that brings the visitor. Under one second to load on a phone. A quote form and a call button that never leaves the screen. FAQ and business schema, an answer-first paragraph on every page, and a robots file that welcomes the crawlers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews use, so the site can be the source they quote. Your Google Business Profile created or cleaned up and linked.

What it is not: a from-scratch design, a 30-page local SEO build, an online store or a booking system. Those are larger builds with their own prices. Extra pages beyond ten, a Spanish or Russian version and booking are fixed-price add-ons, quoted on the call.

What it costs, all of it

There is no page where the real price hides. This is the whole list.

  • Build: $0 up front; $999 once, after the 5th tracked lead; $0 forever if that never happens
  • Hosting: $50 a month, billed monthly from launch, 12-month minimum ($600 over the first year), then month to month
  • Care, optional: $99 a month instead of hosting, with an hour of content edits a month
  • Growth plans, optional, and only where the competition check says they will pay: $500 to $2,000 a month for new ranking pages every month and a lead report
  • Domain: yours, in your name, about $15 a year at the registrar

What counts as a lead

A lead is a form submitted on the site from someone who is not spam, not a vendor and not already your customer. If you add call tracking, a call over 30 seconds to the tracking number counts the same way; without it, calls are not counted, which only works in your favor. The monthly lead report lists each one with its date and source, and it is the record for both of us. If a number on it looks wrong, say so and we take it off. We would rather lose a lead off the count than argue about one.

This is the same report every Growth client gets, so nothing about the free website runs on trust alone. Form submissions are counted by the site itself. Call tracking, if you want it, is a number that forwards to your phone and logs the duration, set up as an add-on.

Who it is for, and who should pay the $999 instead

The free website is built for local service businesses and practices that get work from Google: contractors, trades, dentists and clinics, law firms, restaurants, salons, studios, agents. Before the call we run the same ten-minute competition check we run for every proposal. Green and yellow categories are the normal case. In a red category, where national aggregators own the results, we still build the site at $0 on hosting; we just tell you not to buy growth work from us or anyone.

If you would rather own the code on day one, pay $999 at launch instead: same site, no lead count, no hosting term, hosting optional at $50 a month or host it yourself. Businesses that already have a lead flow and want the asset outright usually take that door. Our pricing page shows both side by side.

The catch, in plain words

A free website from anyone has a catch, so here is ours. One: the 12-month hosting term. We are paid for the build by hosting it, so the first year is a commitment of $50 a month. Two: the design is built on our system, not drawn from a blank page, which is how a hand-coded site can cost $0; it is still designed for your business, approved on desktop and phone before we write code. Three: ownership timing. Your domain and content are yours from day one; the repository is handed over after 12 months of hosting, or the day you pay the $999. Leave inside the term and the remaining months are due, after which the code is yours. Nothing is held hostage, and the terms page says all of this in contract language.

What is not a catch: no plugin licenses, no theme renewals, no platform fee, no leads kept from you, no domain registered in our name, no upsell required to keep the site online.

FAQ

Common questions

Is the website really free?

The build is: $0 up front, and the $999 build fee is due only once the site has brought you 5 tracked leads, which are forms from the site and, if you add call tracking, calls. The one cost from day one is hosting at $50 a month, with a 12-month minimum. If the site never brings 5 leads, the build fee is never due.

What if the site never brings me leads?

Then you never pay the $999. You will have paid hosting at $50 a month for 12 months, and you will own a fast, search-first site at the end of it. We take that risk because the sites work; we would not offer it otherwise.

Do I own the website?

Your domain and content are yours from day one. The code is handed over after 12 months of hosting, or on the day you pay the $999, whichever comes first. After that you can keep hosting with us month to month or take the site anywhere.

Can I cancel hosting?

After 12 months, any month, and the code goes with you. Inside the term, the remaining months are due, after which the code is yours. The $999 build fee is only ever due on leads, never on cancellation.

What if I want more pages, Spanish, or online booking?

Extra pages beyond ten, a Spanish or Russian version and booking are fixed-price add-ons quoted on the call. A store or a booking system with payments is quoted from $8,000. A site that needs to rank in many cities starts from the same build and adds city and service pages on a Growth plan from $500 a month.

Is this a template?

No. It is hand-coded on our design system, which is how it can be fast and free. No WordPress, no Wix, no theme, no plugins, nothing to patch. You approve the design on desktop and phone before we write code.

Why not just use Wix's free plan?

Wix's free plan puts ads on your site and keeps you on a Wix subdomain; the paid plans run $17 to $50 a month for a site that is slow on phones and cannot leave the platform. Ours is $50 a month for a hand-coded site on your own domain that ranks, and after 12 months you own it.

How fast is it live?

2 to 4 weeks from the call to launch, with a launch date in writing at the start. The page map takes a day or two, design three to five days, the build one to two weeks.
